At the centre, our expert team works on customer projects across a wide range of applications. We offer a flexible, modular approach which can be tailored to meet our customers’ needs including collaborative projects, troubleshooting, product trials and training.

In Bridgewater, USA, National Starch Food Innovation’s process technology group, which includes process, mechanical and chemical engineers and chemists, operates the Process Innovation Centre. This facility provides our team with the resources to scale-down every manufacturing step at our global network of production facilities and complements the European Technical Centre. We work with all our starch sources including maize, waxy maize, tapioca and potato. The centre allows us to develop bespoke products to meet customer-specific needs and ensure consistency of quality from plant to plant.
The Process Innovation Centre includes equipment and processes in the following areas:
• Corn pilot wet milling system
• Starch slurry reactions
• Dry thermal treatment of starches
• Cold water swelling starches
• Separation processes (e.g. filter press, membrane separation)
• Drying (flash, spray, drum)
• Blending
The combined resources of the European Technical Centre and the Process Innovation Centre enable our customers to develop a faster stream of new product innovations.
