Agribusiness – where the supply chain starts

National Starch Agribusiness Europe manages the supply of maize and the sale of co-products for the European starch plants.

Over 95% of National Starch's European maize supply is contract production with European cooperatives and farmers. National Starch uses a number of different maize types such as waxy, organic waxy and high amylose varieties.

We partner with growers who are dedicated to the same high standards of quality as National Starch and consistently deliver a superior crop. National Starch pioneered the production of speciality maize in Europe in the mid 1980s and has developed strong relationships with growers over many years. Our maize suppliers are a vital link in preserving the identity of our ingredients and they also track production, varieties planted and collect valuable crop management data.

The Agribusiness team also oversees the quality and sales of our co-products which include germ, steep water and gluten meal. National Starch’s reputation for quality and non-GM materials means our co-products are in demand throughout the world.
